Teacher Resources
The Physics Classroom has been devoted to helping students, teachers, and classrooms since the 1990s. We are as passionate about that mission now as we have ever been. If you are a teacher of Physics or Physical Science, we encourage you to use our Video Tutorial with your students. And we also encourage you to consider the use of other resources on our website that coordinate with the video. We have listed a few below to help you get started.
Curriculum Corner, Electric Circuits Section
Our Curriculum Corner is composed of a collection of Think Sheets. Each one makes for a great component of any Lesson Plan. They work great for both independent practice exercises and cooperative group exercises. The following
Think Sheet makes a great complement to this video:
Mathematical Relationships in Circuits
Teacher Toolkits: Circuit Concepts
Try a Teacher Toolkit ... you might be very glad that you did. Each toolkit includes annotated links to vetted resources from across the web that we feel reliably support the specific topic. Give this one on circuit concepts a try.
Physics Intractives, DC Circuit Builder
Minds On Physics: Electric Circuits Module - Mission EC4 - Resistance, Voltage, and Current
Make sure your students understand the concept with this MOP Mission. They can rely on the Question-specific help (textbook icon) as needed. Use it with a Task Tracker subscription and allow us to keep track of student progress.
Minds On Physics: Electric Circuits Module - Mission EC5 - Voltage, Resistance, and Current Calculations
Make sure your students can use the equation to analyze a circuit and solve for an unknown. Using it with a Task Tracker subscription allows you to customize the activity. It's a great benefit.
Concept Builders: Electric Circuits - I=∆V/R Equations as a Guide to Thinking
This Concept Builder will provides students a great exercise with proportional reasoning. They will get immediate feedback and opportunities for correction.
Calculator Pad: Electric Circuits Problem Set - Problems #6 - #9
Our Calculator Pad has sets of problems with answers and audio-guided help. Send your students here for practice and check-ups.
Tutorial on Electric Circuits; Lesson 3: Electrical Resistance
Our written Tutorial is the basis of the video tutorial. Thus, a trip to this page will provide a great refersher of what is going on. Do what other teachers do - put a link to it on your course page.
