Equilibrium

In the Equilibrium Concept Builder, learners must use the concept of equilibrium and the components of a force vector in order to determine what forces must be added in order to establish equilibrium for the object. In each case, one to three forces are exerted on the object. Each force is at an angle to the coordinate axes. Learners must add one East-West and one North-South force in order to bring about the equilibrium. There are three levels of difficulty with each level adding an additional angled force. There are four questions in each level. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 12 situations. Using the Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows for the storage of progress records.
