Lesson 1: Basic Terminology and Concepts

Lesson 1 discusses the concepts of work, power, kinetic energy, potential energy and mechanical energy. Items in the group's pool include athletes (baseball pitchers, pole vaulters, high jumpers, platform divers, BASE jumpers, bunjee jumpers), construction site equipment, wrecking balls, meteor craters, roller coaster rides, trampolines, springs, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 1 of the Work, Energy and Power chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.

Lesson 2: The Work and Energy Relationship

Lesson 2 discusses the manner in which energy is transformed from kinetic energy to potential energy (and vice versa) and from non-mechanical forms into mechanical forms (and vice versa). Items in the group's pool include roller coaster rides, athletes (bunjee jumpers, pole vaulters, high jumpers, platform divers, ski jumpers), playground swings, meteor craters, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 2 of the Work, Energy and Power chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.
