Spectrum

The Spectrum Concept Builder challenges students to order the various regions of the electromagnetic spectrum and the various colors of the visible light spectrum according to their wavelength, frequency, and energy. There are 12 different situations to analyze and two activities. There are two question types in each activity. The first type involves ranking three regions of the EM spectrum or three colors of the visible spectrum in order of their wavelength, their frequency, or their energy. The second question type involves identifying all those regions of the EM spectrum or colors of the visible spectrum that have a greater wavelength, frequency or energy than a specified region or color. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 12 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.
