Angular Position and Displacement

The Angular Position and Displacement Concept Builder focuses student attention upon the relationship between an object location in a rotational cycle and the use of degrees and radians to describe such a position. The Concept Builder consists of 54 total questions organized into 15 different Question Groups and spread across three Activities. In the first activity, Degree in Rotation, learners identify the position of an object by the number of degrees of rotation in the counter-clockwise direction beginning at the 3-o'clock position. In the second activity, Easy as PI, learners identify the position of an object using radians instead of degrees. In the third activity, Rad Physics, learners are presented a diagram showing the initial and final position of an object and must identify the angular displacement in radians. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 15 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.
