Frequency and Period

The Frequency and Period Concept Builder is a tool that covers the concepts of frequency and wavelength from the purely descriptive aspects (definition, meaning, unit) to the computational aspects (calculations). There are 36 questions organized into 18 Question Groups and spread across three activities. The first activity - Two Truths and a Lie - presents students with three statements; they must identify the two true statements and the one false statement. In the second activity - Case Studies - learners are presented two representations of a vibrating object and must identify the case in which the frequency or the period is the greatest. In the third activity - Do the Math! - learners are presented with information regarding the number of vibrations and the time and must calculate the frequency or the period ... and identify the unit. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 18 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.
