Vector Walk in Two Dimensions
The Vector Walk in Two Dimensions Interactive is a multi-level skill-building activity in which learners determine the distance and displacement of a multi-stage, two-dimensional motion. Learners will have to combine an understanding of the concept of distance and displacement with the use of the Pythagorean theorem and a trigonometric function to be successful. After viewing an animation of a motion (which is also described in words), learners must enter the distance and displacement (magnitude and direction) into the input fields. Upon tapping Check Answer, they will receive immediate feedback. When the answers are incorrect, the correct answers are reported and a similar problem is provided.
Users are encouraged to open the Interactive and begin. An activity sheet is not needed for this Interactive.
