Newton's Laws - Mission NL7 Detailed Help

Which of the following would have the effect of increasing (or decreasing) the acceleration of an object?

Newton's Second Law
The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

The relationship between net force (Fnet), mass (m) and acceleration (a) is expressed by the equation

a = Fnet/ m

If the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force which it experiences, then any increase in net force will increase the acceleration. Similarly, any decrease in net force will decrease the acceleration.
If the acceleration of an object is inversely proportional to the mass of the object, then any increase in mass will decrease the acceleration. Similarly, any decrease in mass will increase the acceleration.

Use these principles to carefully select the correct answer.
