Definition of Converging Lens:
A converging lens is a lens that will converge rays of light that are traveling parallel to the principal axis of the lens. A converging lens can often be identified by its shape. It is thickest at the center (nearest the principal axis) and thinnest at the edges.

A diverging lens is a lens that will diverge rays of light which are traveling parallel to the principal axis of the lens. A diverging lens can often be identified by its shape. It is thinnest at the center (nearest the principal axis) and thickest at the edges.
