Falling Bodies 1D
The Falling Bodies 1D Interactive is a numerical and graphical modeling program for modeling the vertical falling motion of an object under the influence of air resistance. The modeling is restricted to vertical motion only. It is ideal for studying the effects of varying a parameter (drag coefficient, profile area, air density, initial height and velocity, and object mass) upon the characteristics of the motion. Learners enter parameters associated with the fall and view data and plots representing the falling motion.
Users are encouraged to open the Interactive and explore. For teachers who wish to use this interactive with their classes, we have prepared an activity sheet that focuses student attention on exploring What if ...? styled questions using the numerical modeling powers of the program. View
